With the exception of Friday our evenings are filled with mat classes and Studio sessions, but from time to time we are able to offer a private session on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please email for our current availability.

What do the levels mean?

FUNDAMENTAL MAT
Pilates fundamental classes offer a safe environment within which you can both learn and continue to practice the principles of Pilates including relaxation, concentration, alignment, breathing, centring, coordination, flowing movement and stamina. Here you can build an understanding of how your body moves under instruction, and explore the concept of the mind and body connection.

INTERMEDIATE MAT
Once you have demonstrated a good understanding of the fundamentals, and provided you can move comfortably through a fundamental level class, you can progress to a more intermediate class. Within an intermediate level class we still include the fundamentals of Pilates but add further challenge to coordination and flow of movement increasing the demands on not only the mind body connection, but also increasing the load to the muscles to challenge the body’s stamina.

ADVANCED MAT
An advanced class is ideal for those looking to broaden their understanding of all of the fundamental Pilates principles and take the body through all ranges of movement, with increased load and pace to challenge strength and stamina, building an absolute understanding of our body’s in movement.

IMPROVER
Improver is a term we use to suggest that a class is progressing between levels.

Most of our classes are Progressive, which means that we expand our repertoire of movement at the level of that class without following the more Classical route towards Joseph Pilates advanced classical mat repertoire.  Where the classical repertoire is being practiced, following a clear pathway towards the Advanced Classical Mat, these classes will be marked accordingly as Classical.

Whilst all of our teachers are Body Control Pilates qualified there are likely to be subtle differences in our classes based upon our own personalities and experience of Pilates.

STUDIO SESSIONS
The Studio sessions allow clients to work directly with a teacher on their own specific goals and work with the full range of both classical Pilates equipment including the reformer, cadillac, wunda chair and ladder barrel, as well as the more recently developed equipment including the Core Align and other smaller apparatus too.

Clients work under the shared instruction of a teacher on their own specific programme, using equipment to facilitate and assist in movement combinations, following some of the original classical equipment repertoire, as well as exploring more progressive functional movement too, dependent on the body’s needs.

These sessions are by appointment only, Tuesday to Saturday inclusive.

PILATES TARIFF
Classes Payable in either a 5 week block £67.50, or a 10 week block £135. Maximum 12 people per class

Studio session 60 minutes £27 per session, pay as you go. Block of 10 sessions £240 (saving £30) to be taken within 20 weeks of payment. Block of 5 sessions £125 (saving £10) to be taken within 10 weeks of payment

75 minutes £31 per session, pay as you go. Block of 10 sessions £260 (saving £50) to be taken within 20 weeks of payment. Block of 5 sessions £140 (saving £15) to be taken within 10 weeks of payment.

One-to-one session 60 minutes £60 per session, pay as you go. Block of 10 sessions £515 (saving £85) to be taken within 20 weeks of payment. Block of 5 sessions £277.50 (saving £22.50) to be taken within 10 weeks of payment

Joint private session 60 minutes £72 per session, pay as you go. Block of 5 sessions £315 (saving £9) to be taken within 10 weeks of payment

CONDITIONS
You have until 12 noon the day before your appointment to notify us of a cancellation in order to avoid a full cancellation fee. Please note that any calls or notification received after 12 noon on the preceding day will be charged.
All classes will start promptly, anyone arriving more than 10 minutes late will be admitted only at the discretion of the Teacher.
All mobile phones must be switched off or turned to silent during a session unless prearranged in exceptional circumstances.
Please be aware that as a centre of learning for BCP trainee Teachers some of your session may be taken by a trainee under supervision.
